“Ambition” is easy to speak and very good to hear this word but actually, when you start working on your ambitions you realize how difficult it is to achieve them. Different people have different ambitions in life. Some want to become rich in their life and some want to achieve their passion. People often forget that they are human beings first so their very first ambition in life should be to become a good human being and after that do whatever they want to. I am not saying that setting ambitions in your life for yourself is not important it definitely is but before that, your ambition in life should be to become a good human being .life is too short and in this short journey of life you can become rich anytime when you start working hard but once you set your path to a wrong track you will never be able to become a good human being.

Practically aimless life is not proper life. A person without any ambition is living a pointless life. It is thus mandatory to have a definite ambition in life so that you can not only become a better person but also be able to achieve your passion in life. Setting a proper ambition in your life is not a choice but a necessity. It is as important as the heart without which a person is dead. If you don’t have any ambition in life you will never be able to take the next step in your life . You will uselessly be living a confused life.

Ambitions are important in your life because:

  1. It keeps informing you about the actions you took, are taking and will be taking in future .it is good to be updated about what you are doing and what will you be doing. Forgetting about your past and living in present and thinking for the future is very important which cannot be achieved if you don’t have proper ambition in your life. 

  2. Until you don’t have proper ambition you will be living a confused life which you will not even be aware of . Living a confused life is as dangerous as having poison. If you are confused you won’t be able to take the next step and the next move in your life. You will just be living a life like a dead person. You will be so puzzled up that you will feel you are a useless creature and not of any worth. You will blame yourself for every mishappening because you won’t be able to identify what you are actually doing.

  3. You won’t be able to make any decision in your life. You will be leading a life where you won’t be able to make any self decisions. You will always need someone to decide what you are actually doing or what you will be doing. Your decisions will not be your decisions it will be someone else’s decision and you will simply agree on those decisions which you won’t even know are really beneficial for you or not. You won’t have the power of taking self-decision. You will be known as a fickle-minded person. 



  1. You will never be a self-independent person. You will always have to be dependent on someone so that they can do that proper work for you. You will rely on them for everything and won't be able to do a single work by yourself. 

  2. For leading a healthy life further you need to be ambitious and you should be strong enough to face any challenge. We know this world is filled with fake and temporary people. When they leave you will be shattered. you will be broken from the inside and to overcome these obstacles you need to be ambitious and just focus on your goals. When you become ambitious you will have that hunger for getting success and achieving your passion. henceforth you will be too busy and will hardly care about other people. You will be so freaking strong and carefree that no one will be able to break you. The hunger for success will keep guiding you to the right path and this will lead you to a healthy lifestyle.

We notice that there are people who are ambitious but are unable to decide what actually their ambition is so for them I would like to suggest that if you do meditation and seek proper career guidance you will know what actually you are and what actually you can do. You will get to know the real you and most importantly you will get to know your ambitions in life


How to set an ambition


When we talk about ambition it is not only for being a doctor or engineer or something that will be professionally connected to that work. It can also be a very small thing. Like how to get rid of a bad habit or how to achieve a certain thing in life.  A very good example of this is given in the web series "Kota Factory" it's a very good web series where it is showing that an IIT aspirant is being motivated to set an ambition and achieve it.


Sometimes we make bad decisions sometimes we go off track sometimes we feel that everything is not going as we want. Sometimes we try very hard but it doesn't work that doesn't mean we will stop working. We get frustrated when the result or gold we are targeting for it not what we are getting. 


And on the opposite side when we get whatever we want continuously we start gaining confidence and then become overconfident and start losing interest in whatever we are doing.


So the game should be natural like when we are achieving what we want we should not get over-excited or when you are not achieving what we want you should not get over depressed.


Set goals which are practical for example like we cannot set a goal which requires no effort or we cannot set a goal which is beyond our capacity like after giving our 100 percent also we cannot achieve what we want. That will lead us to depression. So we should set goals that are more realistic. Have confidence in our self and work hard for it. Try to make ambitions which you are more inclined to in which you don't have to put much effort. Like for example if my ambition or goal is to lose weight there are two ways of reducing weight one which does not like the gym.


If you put a on gym then maybe it is possible to lose weight but I will not be able to continue this for a long period of time. On other hand if I try to lose weight by playing badminton which is easier than gym field require less effort and give me the same result. Same as earning money and many kinds of ways to earn money should not follow what people are doing rather than that we should follow our passion. Ambition our goals should not be based on society’s taboo and thoughts. Our dream our ambition our goals total ours. So that's why it should be what we like to do what we will be able to do which will not lead us to depression on mental health issue.


So, before setting a goal you should realize that what are we actually setting the goal for is it because of the profession what we like all the way through which will achieve the profession. If it is just the profession and we don't like the way to achieve it then we will never be able to achieve our goals because we will break in between only.


Learn keep short terms goals. Keep natural goals easy for you to achieve unnatural things become difficult to achieve which leads to depression. If something comes from you naturally just pursue it is a passion. This will need much less effort. Stop seeing what others the doing and following that was a step. Do something from you for your own passion make your own dreams achieve your own dreams. When you aim for something you start thinking about that your entire thought process revolves around that that becomes your life.


So our ambition should be search that it doesn't not affect our life. In many cases, there are parents who forcefully make their own ambition as their sons or daughters ambition and at last when they cannot take that pressure to commit suicide.


For setting an ambition you should be confident about your goals and ambitions. But on the other hand, being ambitious doesn’t mean you will hurt yourself. We often see people studying late at night. I will say this is wrong because your body is a machine and needs rest too and the hours you are studying in the biological hours for sleeping so your health will deteriorate. So be ambitious set a goal in life by focusing on your passion but at the same time stay healthy.
