Even if you can't play team sports, attend a group exercise class, or go to the gym, there are plenty of fantastic (and free!) ways to stay active. Here are a few of our personal favorites:
Workout Watch Parties / Online Classes
YouTube is brimming with high-quality guided workout videos. You can find it on YouTube, whether you're looking for a harsh drill sergeant to get you in shape or a soothing yoga instructor to lead you through an easy morning stretch.
There are also a plethora of options to get started on the internet. This is the ideal time to try something new, such as taekwondo, fencing, or any other "strange" workouts you've always wanted to do but couldn't find the time to integrate into your hectic schedule.
Burn on a daily basis
Thousands of training videos are available on the Daily Burn website, providing you a wide selection of free fitness options during their initial 30-day trial.
Peloton
Peloton creates the one-of-a-kind stationary cycle that everyone adores, but did you know they also have an app? It offers a variety of cross-training options, not just for cyclists. It's currently available for free for the next 30 days.
CorePower Yoga is a type of yoga that focuses on
CorePower Yoga, which is typically conducted as an in-person yoga studio, is now delivering many free yoga videos online each week for members and non-members alike on their website. The nicest part about online fitness is that if you don't like the lesson, you can just pause the video and go about your business. No more feeling self-conscious about sneaking out of (or remaining and enduring) a new exercise session that doesn't seem right for you.
You may host or attend a workout watch party if you need and want that peer pressure to keep you in class! Zoom isn't just for virtual happy hours and work meetings. Any activity that you can perform alone at home may be done with friends, teams, or trainers online.
When You Have the Opportunity, Get Outside
You can usually walk, run, or ride your bike right out your front door, no matter where you live. Even a simple walk or bike ride around the block can help to enhance your brainpower and metabolism, and breathing in fresh air while admiring the sky, trees, and squirrels can make you feel better. Do you require some company? FaceTime a buddy and start stepping "as a group."
Additionally, having extra time at home allows for more yard work and gardening in the final days before winter. Get a full-body workout while freshening up your landscaping and growing your own food.
Use your equipment to its full potential.
Much of the weight-lifting and resistance-training equipment you'll need at home may be acquired for a reasonable price on the internet. Simple items like resistance bands, jump ropes, and yoga mats, for example, are inexpensive and versatile.
You can also use items found around the house as training equipment. Hand weights can be made out of canned foods. Be inventive!
Have some fun with your kids.
You've undoubtedly spent a lot more time with your kids recently, and you're thinking to yourself, "These little people are nuts!" Where do they acquire their boundless energy?
While you won't be able to bottle their passion, you can take advantage of it. Have a dance party to exhaust the kids while also getting a good workout. YouTube videos of Just Dance can be found and practised together. Teach you the latest Fortnite or TikTok dances from your kids.
